The Brief
Working as Principal Contactor Walsh Construction Ltd have just completed works at Hereford Enterprise Zone. These works consisted of Section 278 works including 2 adoptable entrances, a substantial sustainable urban drainage system and Welsh Water adoptable sewer diversion and connection, along with a number of sub contract packages.
This site was managed by our site manager who successfully built up a rapport with both the client and stakeholders quickly. Using local materials, 100% of the stone and concrete were brought in from local businesses and within Herefordshire.
This site was challenging due to unforeseen contaminated ground, however liaising with both the client and designers we were able to remove the contaminated material from the works but remain within the works which resulted in a potential cost saving to the client.
Sub Contractors on this project included working with surfacing contractors, white lining, fencing, and liaising with traffic management.
