Jon Bird

Managing Director

Jon has been Managing Director of Walsh Construction since 2004 and is the majority shareholder of the company. His active involvement and ‘hands on’ approach to contract management and estimating, ensures that he keeps a tight rein on delivering a quality service from the design stage to contract completion. After working for thirty years in the construction industry, Jon has gained valuable experience which helps him to steer Walsh Construction towards continued growth and success. His wealth of experience of major public and private contracts includes Section 278 highways works, groundworks packages and general civils projects.


Phil Crosby

HSE Director

Phil has gained almost 25 years’ experience in the construction industry. He started his career as a site engineer, then progressed to Projects Manager at a local construction company. Phil joined the team as Contracts Manager and is now a Director and manages the majority of contracts ranging in value from £2k to £1m for both public and private clients. His proactive attitude and active involvement in Contract Management and estimating ensures that our clients are put first. Phil believes that quality and safety are fundamental to delivering first class contracts. Highly respected for his technical knowledge he provides the necessary support and guidance that our site teams need for the successful completion of projects. Qualified to NEBOSH and IOSH standards, Phil ensures that Health and Safety criteria onsite is achieved at all times.


James Evitts 

Construction Director

James has gained almost 18 years’ experience in the construction industry. He started his career as a site engineer for a tier one contractor where he progressed to Construction Manager. James then followed the sub-contract route undertaking both Project and Contract Manager rolls. James has recently joined Walsh as Construction Director and will manage contracts ranging in value from £100k to £2m for both public and private clients. His “Can Do” attitude and multi-faceted construction knowledge ensures that our clients requirements to both programme and quality are put first. James believes that safety and quality go hand in hand and achieving these two fundamentals are crucial to the delivery of the high end project that our clients require. James is NEBOSH qualified and ensures that the Health and Safety requirements on all his projects are achieved to the highest standards.


Jason Grant

Senior Works Manager

Jason has had over 20 years’ experience of working at Walsh Construction. He joined the team as a skilled labourer and now has the role of Works Manager. He is a capable, trustworthy, accomplished and proactive manager who is highly respected by staff and clients. He has a wealth of experience of all civils projects, particularly with road and drainage contracts. Jason has supervised contracts of up to £1million in value. He manages our site labour, ensuring that all projects follow the objectives of Method Statements and Risk Assessments. Furthermore, he organizes resources and liaises with clients to ensure the smooth running and completion of contracts within the time scale allowed. Jason is a highly qualified individual who has also achieved a NEBOSH construction qualification.
