The contract involved the removal of an over burden from the batter which was parallel to the station platform. This required the removal of 1000m3 of surplus material and work on the steep embankment using excavators. Following on from the regrading of the slope, we installed counterfort drains to provide drainage and reduce the risk of slipping. The project involved new vandal proof fencing and repairs to the existing slag walls. We liaised closely with clients to ensure that the work was completed within the time frame specified in order for the railway to run their Christmas Special train service.
